Grief & Loss Counseling with Dr. Darrell Owens
Compassionate Support for Your Journey Through Grief and Loss
Grief is not just about death—it’s about loss in all its forms. Whether you’re mourning the passing of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or the slow, painful goodbye of a family member with dementia, loss changes us. It can leave us feeling lost, overwhelmed, or even disconnected from the world around us. But you don’t have to go through it alone.
As a grief and loss counselor with over 30 years of experience, I provide compassionate, structured support to help you navigate your grief in a way that feels right for you. Together, we will explore your emotions, find healthy ways to cope, and work toward healing—not by “moving on,” but by learning how to live alongside your grief in a way that honors your loss while allowing you to move forward.
How the Process Works
I work with individuals through a six-session counseling process, designed to provide clarity, emotional support, and practical tools for understanding and coping with grief and loss. These sessions are tailored to your personal experience, and they can help with:
- The death of a loved one
- The end of a marriage or relationship
- The loss of a friend or estranged family member
- The slow loss of someone to dementia or illness
- Life transitions that leave you feeling lost or uncertain
- Any form of grief that feels heavy and difficult to carry
What to Expect in Your Sessions
Each session is one-on-one with me, and together we’ll explore:
- Understanding Your Grief – Helping you make sense of your feelings and reactions
- Expressing and Processing Your Loss – Finding a safe space to talk through your emotions
- Coping Strategies – Developing practical ways to manage grief in daily life
- Finding Meaning & Healing – Discovering ways to honor your loss while embracing life
- Building Resilience – Learning how to carry grief in a way that doesn’t hold you back
- Creating a Path Forward – Helping you feel ready to step into life with confidence and peace
Grief is not a problem to be “fixed”—it is a natural part of being human. My goal is to provide you with the support, understanding, and tools you need to navigate this journey in a way that is meaningful to you.
You Are Not Alone
Many people feel like they should “be over it” or that their grief isn’t “big enough” to need help. But every loss—no matter how clear or complicated—deserves support. If you are struggling, I am here to help.
If you’re interested in working together, reach out today. You don’t have to carry this alone.
